Once you've successfully downloaded and installed SubLab, here's how to launch it inside Ableton Live.
1. Add SubLab to a MIDI Track in Live. Go to Browser>Categories>Plug-ins. Double-click SubLab within the FutureAudioWorkshop folder in either the Audio Units (macOS only), VST, or VST3 folders.
❌ If you do not see SubLab listed as an AU, VST, or VST3 plug-in, please proceed to the troubleshooting section below.
2. When opening SubLab for the first time, a window will prompt you to add your Activation Code. Please Copy & Paste it from your browser. You can find your Activation Code in your FAW Account, or from wherever you made your purchase.
3. Done! SubLab is ready to go.
❌ Don't see SubLab listed as an AU, VST, or VST3 plug-in? Please follow these steps.
1. Verify installation by checking the program files.
If properly installed, SubLab's files should be found here:
macOS: .../Library/ApplicationSupport/FAW/SubLab
PC: C:/ProgramFiles/FAW/SubLab
And at least one of the following locations:
macOS: .../Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/SubLab.component
macOS: .../Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/SubLab.vst
macOS: .../Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/SubLab.vst3
PC: C:/Program Files/VSTPlugins
PC: C:/Program Files/Common Files/VST3
PC: C:/Program Files (x86)/VSTPlugins
2. If you find SubLab in two or more of the above locations, please restart your computer, relaunch Ableton Live, and see if the issue is resolved.
If you don't find the SubLab files in those two locations, please repeat the installation process.
3. Now, if you still do not see SubLab listed as an AU, VST, or VST3 plug-in, perform a Plugin Rescan. Go to Preferences>Plug-ins.
4. At the top of this window, hit the Rescan button.
5. If that does not work, you can hold ALT while clicking Rescan to delete your plug-in database altogether and run a clean scan of your plug-ins.
6. Also, make sure you have at least one of the following buttons turned On. These must be On to see their respective folders in the Browser.
